  1. If your not ready to put your J70 up for the winter, then consider coming to Hampton YC Fall Fling Nov. 16-17 in Hampton, VA. This is a low key multi class event with an Oyster Roast Sat. Night. We have out of town boats coming in the 505 and Viper classes. Other classes will be J24, the HYC club Sonars and any other class with five or more. The 505 class is having a clinic on Friday. We can do the same if there is interest. The first gun is noon on Sat. This gives you time to rig Sat. morning if you arrive late on Friday. Also, to help keep your cost down, we can arrange housing in members homes if you give us enough notice. If you need long term mast down storage, it can be arranged with the sailing coach at CNU. We have nine J70's that indicated they are coming so far. One is from Buffalo and yours truly, Kathy Parks form AYC. Here is the HYC link to find the NOR. http://www.hamptonyc.com/onedesign/index.html Let me know if you are coming or if you have any questions. Ron Thompson Hull# 68

    C.3.1 Limitations On The Crew

I bought the boat when the rule was 614 lbs. I thought this was great to be able to sail with three up and I enjoy sailing with three and it's easier to find crew. It solves the crew problems associated with J24's and Melges24. Lighter crews can add a fourth. I think it is too crowded with four. I was pretty bummed when the optimal weight turned out to be 700 lbs. Now I am under weight and have to find someone 75-100 lbs. if I want to be competitive. It adds more logistics finding that fourth crew that I was hoping to avoid with the J70. Ron Thompson #68
